It's October 2, in Warroad, MN. 6 miles from the Canadian border. The high today was 78 degrees. The last couple of days, our lows have been the same as the average highs this time of year. Not that I'm complaining... it might snow on Wednesday.
For the last week, it's been abnormally cold, complete with bits of snow. Today, enough was coming down fast enough to make the ground white for a while. It's almost May! I want spring!
Well, I switched to Firefox today. I like it. It seems a bit faster (not that you can tell on the Internet here) and I like the extensions. The thing I like the best is the built in RSS reading abilities. Since I don't have XP, I can't get Blog Navigator. But now I can just use Firefox to see what's new much faster. I also really like the tabbed browsing. I don't know if there's much advantage over multiple windows (yet) but at least I can see it all on one page. One thing I don't like is how...
I found this while wasting time. It's the (so called) largest flag on the internet. One of the stars is wider than the resolution of my monitor.
OK, I might as well pontificate with my election prediction. This is based on gut instinct and playing with the electoral map at 270towin.com Bush: 236 Kerry: 221 Undecided (Iowa, Wisconson, Michigan, Ohio and Florida) 81 Swing states I'm calling: NV: Bush CO: Bush NM: Bush NH: Bush MN: Kerry PA: Kerry OK, some scenarios: If Bush wins FL and one other state he wins If Kerry wins FL, he needs Michigan or Ohio If Bush wins OH and Kerry wins FL, Bush needs MI to win. If Kerr...
Yeah, I'm a frelling Farscape fanatic. So what? For those of you that don't know what's happened in the past, here's a very (very, very, very) compressed (and probably missing some important details) version of our story so far... SPOILER WARNING!!! Astronaut John Chricton is testing his new module, when he gets sucked into a wormhole and deposited... someplace else. He promptly crashes into a fighter, and sends it spinning into an asteroid. He's then brought aboard the ship that's unde...
Well, I turn 22 on the 8th. So I've decided to look at my goals that I had during the last year and see how I did: Do well in school: Achieved. I had the highest GPA's I've had while in college. And I enjoyed most of them (or at least saw that they were usefull) Make more friends: Achieved. It was a very good floor to live on last year... sadly it seems much less... outgoing(?) this year. Get a girlfriend: Failed. OK, I didn't try all that hard... but I'm a bloody coward when it come...
I didn't get enough sleep last night. I'm hopped up on diet Mountain Dew. And I'm bored... so I decided to create a new word: Quasipseudoantidisestablishmentarianism! I think that means "Resembling false opposition to the separation of church and state." If I ever have to write some long, boring (and dumb essay) in some philosophy or comp class, I'll have to try to use that word.
Some time ago, someone wrote a really interesting article on how to build a computer that was optimized for XP. They talked about using a very fast hard drive for the operating system and cache, what size to make partitions for maximum use of the space, and so on. I'm almost certain it was here somewhere on JoeUser, but I can't find it... anyone know where it might be?
I've got 4 tests next week, and I don't want to study anymore. History I'm not too worried about. EM fields and Dynamics I am. And I don't know how I should feel about Ballroom Dance. I've been studying on and off for most of the day. I think I've got most of the history stuff I need to know dealt with, but I'm not even sure where to begin on dynamics and fields. Maybe I should start on my page of notes I get for the test? I could, but I just can't get motivated right now. I'm still being pro...
Well, it's move in day here. 11 people from my floor are back here again (at least on the same floor) this year. Most of them aren't here yet. I'm starting to get bored. I'm almost completly moved into my room. Roomate isn't here yet. It's cold today. Maybe something will come up later and I'll have something to do other than surf the web and more stuff around. I might just watch a movie tonight. I wonder if anyone wants to watch it with me, or if they're all still busy with other things. Wel...
I took the "Leader Test" today. These are my results. I don't think I see enemies everywhere... What Famous Leader Are You? personality tests by similarminds.com
According to the IRS: "Illegal income, such as stolen or embezzled funds, must be included in your income on line 21 of Form 1040, or on Schedule C or Schedule C–EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity. " You can find it on the liked web site between "Holocaust victims restitution" and "Indian fishing rights."
Well, I really need to do this more often. Whats new: Gas is up to $1.74 a gallon. I am not happy with this. Apparently, people in Minot are reporting that bigfoot is now living in the area. I almost certainly failed my computer science test last Friday, but I think most of the rest of the class did too, so at least I have some company. I have a Applied Linear Algebra test tommorow, but I'm not too woried about it. I'm close to finishing up the purpose driven life. I feel lonely. Spring bre...
I had a dream last night. And I rememberd it. That's a little odd, but not too much. The dream itself was... bizzare. Even for one of my dreams. Now, a brief summary of what I remember. I was outside. It was cloudy. There was a group of people there. I somehow wound up having a job to keep someone company or just was by them. She was a girl I know from my floor. Somehow, during the dream, she would up being a telepath like Lyta from Babylon 5 (and she has red hair too...) when (this is w...
