The Daily Chronicle of My Life (Part 2)

Today, I didn’t have any classes, since the only class I have on Tuesday was cancelled for some reason. So I got to walk halfway across campus, see a sign that said CANCELLED and walk back to my dorm. If I had know about that before hand, I wouldn’t have had to go out in this cold weather. At least it wasn’t as bad as it was this weekend.

My roommate had the air let out of his tires today. He works for UND Parking Enforcement, i.e. he’s what’s called a “Parking Nazi.” I don’t like the term, but I can see where it comes from. Some of these people are rather… aggressive in enforcing any possible, minor, infraction of the parking regulations. I don’t really approve of some of the enforcers tactics, but I defiantly don’t approve of the vandalism of someone’s car over that. I just hope that no one decides to go after me because I live with him.

For lunch today I had popcorn chicken and some cottage cheese. It wasn’t too bad. Defiantly better than Wilkerson food. I spent most of the afternoon playing Galactic Civilizations. One more game and my Metaverse ranking goes up to Fleet Captain. I have enough points to be a Commodore, but not enough games. Yet.

I met some people for dinner in Terrace. I had roast pork and a salad for dinner. Pretty good food. After diner, I kept reading The Two Towers. I’m at the end of Helm’s Deep. I watched “American Idol” at 7, and laughed at some truly horrific singing. I think Simon was generally right on most counts. After that, I watched the State of the Union Address. Can’t say I saw anything unexpected in the speech. I did find it kind of amusing that some of the Democrats applauded when the President said that the Patriot Act would expire this year. I also think that Nancy Pelosi looked a bit like a deer caught in headlights when she was giving the reply. It was probably just the lighting, but still…

Tomorrow I get to go classes. I’m actually enjoying my Linear Algebra class (so far), but as the professor noted on the first day, most of up already know most of the material. Hey, as long as I can do well in it, I don’t really care a whole lot about if I already know it or not.
